| 19457 | from Bill Fairbanks, Terre Haute, Indiana: Mr. Fairbanks, Regarding William Fairbanks, ID:193362 (and several others in this - my - branch of the family) I have been collecting definitive information for a number of years. William (193362) was my great grandfather. Mary Thacker was his first wife. They had three children - Hattie Bell, Bessie Amelia, and Elmer. William's second wife was Mary House. They had six children - Ozeta, George Earl, William Henry, Margaret, Dorothy, and Ruth. William's father was George, elder brother of Hiram Tolbert ( 511) of Petaluma, California. Anyway, I have rather a lot of information, but not much time to polish it up. I've been constructing my branch through Ancestry Family Tree, but it is tediouswork owing to my unfamiliarity with the proofs and forms and citations. It may take a while, but when it is presentable, I think what I've gathered will solve some mysteries, and correct some misinformation. Just wanted someone to know. However, I do have some information about a Jabez Whiting . I have not verified any of this yet but it should be fairly reliable. It comes from a family history collected by my great-aunt. According to her records, the Jabez Whiting Whiting in our family was born in Boston Boston, Lincolnshire, England on 4 April 1790. His father was Peacock Whiting and his mother was Elizabeth Hall. He emigrated to the United States, arriving in Philadelphia PA on 20 June 1817. He married Betsey Betsey T. Ambler on 24 August 1837. He died on 17 April 1878. I would be interested to know how this compares to other information you have about Whiting familiy members in England There may have been more than one Jabez Whiting around that time (the one I have information about could have been named after one of his other relative) or one of his parents may connect up to people about whom you have information. I hope this is useful to you. =============================================================================== 1820; Census Place: Clifford, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania; Roll M33_112; Page: 13; Image: 24.
