FAIRBANKS breathed his last at his home Saturday night about 9 o'clock. An hour earlier than death actually arrived it was reported on the street that he had died. He was conscious to the last. His wife and family relatives were with him when he died. The deceased was born in Iowa in 1858 and a year later came to California with his parents. His father, first came to California in 1850. The father returned to Iowa and was there married. Frank Fairbanks was the fourth child of the family and the third son. Deceased lived most of his life in Petaluma. For several years before he married, he was interested in northern California mines. When H.T. Fairbanks purchased the Golden Eagle mills he installed Frank Fairbanks as manager. For 13 years the deceased handled the big property to good advantage. He was a bright business man and ambitious for the welfare of his town. Deceased left a considerable fortune to his widow and family. By his own exertions he amassed an estate of some $25,000 or $30,000. Knowing his serious state of health, Mr. Fairbanks some time ago deeded all of his property to his wife. Funeral of Frank Fairbanks The funeral of Frank Fairbanks took place Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the residence. It was one of the largest funerals ever held in Southern Sonoma. The beautiful burial service of the Masonic Lodge, of which deceased was an honored member, lent additional solemnity to the occasion.
