"On Sunday morning the 1st inst. in the 76th year of her age depart ed from this life Mr. Phebe Whiting, the truly worthy
and amiable comfort of Mr. John Whiting of Middletown, on Rhode Islan d; to the great grief of her husband, children and
acquaintance; and was decently interred on Tuesday following; she w as eldest daughter of Edward Greenman, Esq. of
South Kingstown; was first married to Mr. Amos Hallam of Stoningt on in Connecticut; had six children three by each marriage all surviving."
