- Obituary April 23, 193... (Midvale, Utah? Perhaps the Deseret News): "James Alvert Silvey, 34, of East Midvale, World War Veteran, died at a Salt Lake City hospital Monday at 3:40 pm following appendectomy. Mr. Silvey was born in Ogden April 29 1900, a son of Edwin and Mary Armstrong Whiting. He was adopted by his grandfather, taking the name of Silvey. He had been employed by the United States Smelting, Mining and Refining Company as foreman for 17 years. He served in the United States Navy during the World War (I). Surviving are his widow Mrs. Lena Silvey, four sons and daughters: Glenna, Gladys, Albert and Delah Silvey all of East Midvale; four sisters Mrs. Lillian Brady, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Floretta Kroll, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Sylvia Goodrich, Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Myra L. Larson, Baker City, Oregon; and a half brother ?ond Whiting, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services have not yet been arranged."
