    P. 576 John Haines was a settler a tLumberton, New Jersey as early as 1863 and is said to have lived first in a cave. Tradition also says that he sent for his father and brothers, and the father died at sea. There is a deed on record from Edward Byllings to Richard Hainaes of Anoe on ye hill, in ye county of Oxton, for 100 acres of land in New Jersey. This Anoe is sukpposed to refer to Anyho in a point of Northampton, which extends into Oxford. Richard was doubtless the father of John, Richard, William, Thomas and Joseph who all lived for a time in Burlington County. John purchased 965 acres of land in Goshen, Chester County 1702.
