Carriel or Carrol, David, of Groton or Sutton, Massachusetts; unsuccessful as a merchant in Charlestown, Mass., where he married Patty Leathers; t. 1797 ; purchased the farm about one third of a mile north of the Common; sold it to Mr. Sibley; and d. Sept 20, 1837. aet 72. His wife lived in Charleston when it was burnt by the British, and it is said was with her father in the last boat, that before the battle, crossed Mystic River with any of the citizens. She died March 4, 1829, aged 58. They had...
