      Almon W. Babbitt was killed by Indians in September. Get the quote from the Willie Handcart Company's Journal. Notes from a Crosier family reunion in Peru Massacusetts 1 Sep 1881 indicates that Almon W. Babbitt was killed by indians near Fort Laramie, Wyoming Territory, on 6 Sep 1856. Susan Easton Black in her book "Who's Who in the Doctrine & Covenants" identifies his death date as 7 Sep 1856, near Ash Hollow about 100 miles northeast of Fort Kearny, Nebraska.

      While he was sealed to three other women in Nauvoo, he was only married to Julia An Johnson.
