David Wayne Bowman died in his home on June 7, 2013. He was the third child of Dan and Doris Bowman of Buhl, Idaho.
David did not always have an easy life and suffered through many trials and tribulations. Most recent was the loss of his beloved niece, Sarah, to cancer in February. He was a deeply religious man and found comfort in studying the Bible. To those that Dave met he showed himself to be a kind and deeply sensitive man who never wanted to burden others with his problems.
Dave loved to work on cars and other mechanical things, which was a passion he shared with his friend, Scott. For a time David and Scott were participating in local racing events. Scott owned the old Gremlin and David was the driver. He also loved large construction equipment, which he worked with during his many years at Stutzman, Inc.
He felt great pride with each completed project. David took great satisfaction in his home and garden. His small garden sprouted many different vegetables that he shared with neighbors and family, as well as enjoying the flavor of God's creation himself. He could often be found at the local bookstore leafing through new recipe books and searching for ways to prepare the fruits of his labor.
Whether for family, friends, or complete strangers, he would stop to clean a drainage pipe, volunteer to help at the food bank, or fix a car engine in the middle of the night for anyone in need. Dave volunteered his time to work with the less fortunate, even though he was struggling financially himself.
David loved his nieces and nephews, even when they were in trouble. He opened his home to them many times, and assisted with whatever they might need. He provided great support to his mother after his father's passing, by supplying transportation, lawn care, moral support, and cooking. From her, he learned to prepare many different kinds of pies and also enjoyed eating them.
He is survived by his mother, Doris; his sisters, Jan, Linda and Debra; his brother, Curt; his daughters, Aleis and Tia; his son-in-law, Joseph; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don, and his niece, Sarah.
He is gone, but will never be forgotten because he will always have a place in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, June 19 at Parke's Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls.
