- 97. Capt. Nathaniel6 Whiting (John5, Nathaniel4, Timothie3, Giles2, Giles1) was born 02 Feb 1690/91 in Wrentham, Norfolk, Massachusetts, and died 04 Sep 1779 in West Medway, Norfolk Co., MA. He married Margaret Mann 08 Apr 1711 in Wrentham, Norfolk, Massachusetts. She was born 21 Dec 1691 in Wrentham, Norfolk, Massachusetts, and died 11 Jan 1775 in West Medway, Norfolk Co., MA. Notes for Capt. Nathaniel Whiting: Colonial and Revolutionary Families of Pennsylvania, Vol's I-III He moved to Medfield, MA sometime after his marriage. He was one of the founders of Medway, 1717. He served as selctman for 8 years between 1723 and 1749. He was captain of a company formed in Medway to serve in the Indian war in 1745. When 80 years of age, his name appears on a list of men returned by a committee of the town of Medway, as having rendered military service at various times subsequent to Apr 19, 1775, with the rank of captain. He owned 618 acres of land, about on-fourth of what is now Medway. He was chosen moderator of the Second Church of Christ in Medway, Oct 8 1750, and was for many years an elder thereof. He died in West Medway, Sep 4, 1779, leaving a will dated Apr 4 1770. Children of Nathaniel Whiting and Margaret Mann are:
