Lemuel Robson's (Robinson's) regt.; enlisted Jan. 29, 1776; service to time of marching in [i.e., home], 14 days; regiment raised in York and Suffolk counties. Roll dated Roxbury and endorsed "service at Dorchester Heights and vicinity.".

48. EBENEZER FAIRBANKS, of Dedham, Mass.

Born in Dedham, Sept. 26, 1732 [see notes]; died Feb. 11, 1812, aged 79 yrs., 4 mos., 15 ds. He inherited a share of the homestead, and purchased the remainder of the other heirs. Was a highly esteemed citizen. A letter, from an old man who remembers him, says, he was a man of fine presence and dignified bearing, and associated with the best people in town. He had considerable musical ability, and was for many years a member of the church choir. He sang with the choir at the memorial funeral services, held in Dedham, on the death of Gen. Washington, the hymn and music, written with a pen, being among the relics now preserved in the old house.
He was a Revolutionary soldier. See War Rolls.
He married, Dec 16, 1756, Prudence, daughter of Jonathan and Prudence Farrington of Dedham, who was baptized Jan. 1, 1737-8. She died Nov. 11, 1815, aged 77 years+.

insufficient data to definitively establish that this is the correct Ebenezer Fairbanks. entry followed by numeral 56. Lieutenant Ebenezer Fairbanks was born in Sherborn and Died in Brimfield, making him an unlikely candidate.
