GEORGE CHANDL:ER FAIRBANKS, Natick, Mass. (558), John Brooks VIII, Lewis VII, David VI, John V, Joseph IV, Joseph III, John II, Jonathan. Born in Natick, Jan. 6, 1852, and has always lived there. He was educated in the public schools, and prepared himself to enter college, but abandoned his intentions to pursue a collegiate course, to engage in business. Worked in a store and the Post Office for a number of years, and in 1873 formed a copartnership in business. In 1882, he purchased the "Natick Bulletin" of which he is now Editor and proprietor. He has never aspired to political honors, but upon the creation of the office of Town Auditor in his native town, served for two years. Married Ella L., daughter of William J. and Louisa (Greenwood) Hobbs, Apr. 4, 1872, who was born Nov. 8, 1854.
