OBITUARY: Bakersfield Californian, Tuesday, June 3, 1958, p. 34; FAIRBANKS, WILLIAM AUGUSTA (sic)--Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Erickson and Brown Funeral Home, Taft, for William Augusta Fairbanks, 87, who died May 30 at his home, 120 1/2 San Emidio St., Taft. The Rev. Willis Culver, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in the West Side Cemetery. A native of Cambria where he was born Feb. 12, 1871, Fairbanks had lived in Morro Bay, Berkeley and Fresno before coming to Taft 14 years ago. He is survived by his widow, Julia E; daughters, Mrs. Hilda De-Par(sic) of Fairfield and Mrs. Alsie Butlin, Taft; a son William Z. of Honolulu; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
