Born in Wright's Corners, Ind., Feb. 2, 1836. Is a dealer in furniture. He served in the Union Army in the late war. Was enrolled Feb. 11, 1865, to serve one year, or during the war, in Co. K, 148th Reg. Ill. Vols., as a private; discharged from the service Sept. 5, 1865, at Nashville, Tenn., as sergeant.
He married, Jan. 27, 1858, Martha Ann Gordon, who was born in Putnam Co., Ind., Jan. 15, 1842, daughter of Granville and Evaline (Southerland) Gordon.
