From Dennis Kroll (California cousin) 10-2008 from Ancestry.com"Family Book of Remembrances and Genealogy with Allied Lines" published Dec 25, 1952:
"Stephen Alonzo was affected by the persuasion of members of the Reorganized Church who seemed to have convinced him that Brigham Young and others of the leaders of the church were living, as they said, "on the hams and shoulders and leaving only the side meat for the poorer members of the church." So he came no farther west than Winter Quarters, later living at different localities of Nebraska, where he and his children became pioneers and prominent settlers. Several of them have, in recent years, joined the Latter-day Saints Church."
