      He was a farmer, residing in Milo, Ill. He was a soldier in the late war. Served three years, and then reenlisted and served about one year longer. Married Elizabeth A. Burton, Jan. 8, 1871. She was the daughter of Josephus and Amanda (Watts) Burton, of Eureka, Ill., and was born Apr. 5, 1843. He died in 1874, and his widow married Mr. Reed, and lives in Beatrice, Neb.
