ROBERT WHITING
WHITING, ROBERT Robert Edward Whiting, P.M., born February 23, 1915, passed away quietly September 3, 2009, in Poway. He is survived by his wife, Eldene R. Whiting, and a large family. His children are Eldene G. Dau and husband Kent of Rancho Bernardo; Daniel A. Whiting and wife Annette of Alamo, CA; Steve J. Whiting and wife Helen of Clairmont, and Robert Elden Whiting of Pacific Beach. In addition, Mr. Whiting has eight grandchildren with respective spouses and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Whiting retired as Right-of-Way Agent after 36 years with Pacific Telephone Company. He joined S.W. Hackett Masonic Lodge #574 in 1946 and eventually became their senior Past Master. He received their prestigious Hiram Award in 2006 for service to the fraternity. He also was a thirty-second degree life member of Scottish Rite. Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 27th, at 2:00 p.m., at the Scottish Rite Temple, 1895 Camino Del Rio South in Mission Valley. The public is invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Elizabeth Hospice at 150 W. Crest Street, Escondido, CA 92025, or S.W. Hacket's Widows and Orphan's Fund.
