      educated at Amherst College, class of admission, 1832; received an Honorary Degree of A. M. in 1865. Was State Senator in 1859 and 1860; County Commissioner in Norfolk, from 1863 to 1872. He was one of the early and prominent abolitionists. He settled in Westboro, Mass., and was there Postmaster and trader till 1840, when he removed to Medway, his present residence.
