      Born in Smithfoeld, now Central Falls, Sept. 21, 1844; resides in Central Falls, and is highway surveyor for districts 8 and 9, of the Lincoln Highway Department. He served three months in Co. H., 9th R. I. Vols. in the late war, and was discharged on the expiration of his term of service.

      Married I, Sarah Mason Bullock, of Pawtucket, R. I., who died Feb. 2, 1876.

      Married II, Mary Emma Shaw, of Rollinsford, N. H., who died Apr. 9, 1889.
