Born in Columbia, Pa., Aug. 23, 1834. Resides in Elmira, N. Y.; is a retired farmer. He lived on the homestead in Columbia until he was thirty-five years old, and then removed to Austinville, Pa., where he resided twenty-five years. He went to Elmira in 1893. He is a shrewd business man, and owns considerable property there. He has served as an Alderman in his ward.
Married, in Southport, N. Y., Sarah S., daughter of Harris and Sarah (Mansfield) Soper, of Button, Pa.
