- !SOURCE: Obituary of John Matson, paper and date not known, in possession of
Beth W. Baker. John came to the United States when he was 7 years old. He
engaged in railroad work and carpenter for eight years and followed the
carpenter trade throughout his life. He came to the Labelle-Lorenzo section of
the Snake River Valley in 1899-90 and engaged in farming. His present home and
farm are on a portion of the original homestead. He only had one child who
died in infancy.
