Prerogative Court of Canterbury
Will - Church of England. Prerogative Court of Canterbury, Parrish of Oundle, Northhamptonshire proved 3 Jan 1644/5 FHL# 092,156 Rivers [name of first will in folio] Vol:192 folio 28. The folio number appears on the film on and upper corner. It is shown only about every 16 pages when the folio changes.
My will is to give to the rest hereafter specified in this manner
Impremins [in the first place] I owe unto my son in law , Mather Bowles, the sum of 50 pounds being part of the wier [dowery] yet unpaid due unto him upon bond to be paid at Michaelmas next which I wish to be paid at the day.
Item I give unto my son John Nethercott the some [sum] of 200 pounds to be paid within one year after my departure.
Item my will is that there be 40 pounds provided for the placing of my sonne … Edward Nethercott
Item I make my most dear and loving wife my sole and onloy executrix to whom I give and bequeath the all the rest of my estate whether catte, money, bonds, bills, or any goods or household stuff whatsoever to be disposed of by her for her own use behoof during the time of his life and att her death to be bestowed as she shall see cause and thinke fitting provided only that my two youngest sons Francis and Edward may have a complete portion thereof according as her ability shall there extend &c [et cetera]
