      an Eleanor Millard at St Michael Winterbourne,Gloucesterr who had an illig. dau
      Eleanor bur 1774 and an illig son,John Chr 1775. This could easily be the same
      woman.Film # 1595662,Barrow Gurney,show An Eleanor Millard on the "poor rolls"
      from about 1815 to 1835.

      Somerset. The Order of Sir John Durbin Knight and Thomas Wilkins Morgan Esquire and of His Majesty's Justice of the Peace in and for the said county one where of is of the___and___ ___ ___ ___ the ___ of the Parish Church within the Parish of Backwell in the said county made the 19th day of July 1791 concerning a male bastard child lately born in the parish of Backwell aforesaid of the Body of Eleanor Millar single woman.
      Whereas it hath appeared unto us the said justices as well upon the complaint of the Church warden and overseer of the poor of this Parish of Backwell aforesaid is upon the ___ of the said Eleanor Millar that she the said Eleanor Millar on the 25th day of February now last past was delivered of a male bastard child at the Parish of Backwell aforesaid and that the said bastard child is now chargeable to the said Parish of Backwell and likely to continue And further that Edward Weston of the Parish of Barrow in the said County husbandman did beget the said bastard child on the body of her the said Eleanor Millar And whereas the said Edward Weston hath appeared before us in pursuance of our summons for that purpose but hath not whereas any sufficient cause why he the said Edward Weston shall not be the respected father of the said bastard child We therefore upon examination of the cause and circumstances of the premises upon the oath of the said Eleanor Millar as do otherwise do hereby adjudge him the said Edward Weston to be the reputed Father of the said bastard child and do thereupon order as well for the better relief of the said Parish of Backwell as for the sustenation and relief of the said bastard child that the said Edward Weston shall and do forthwith upon notice of this our order pay or cause to be paid to the said Church Wardens and overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Backwell or to some or one of them the sum of One pound and five shillings for and towards the living of the said Eleanor Millar and the maintenance of the said bastard child to the time of making this our order. And we do also further order that the said Edward Weston shall pay or cause to be paid to the Church Wardens and Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Backwell for the time being as to some or one of them the sum of one shilling and six pence weekly, and every week from the present time for and toward the keeping sustentation and maintenance of the said bastard child for and during so long time as the said bastard child shall be chargeable to the said Parish of Backwell. And we do further order that the said Eleanor Millar shall also pay or cause to be paid to the said Church Warden and Overseer of the poor of the said Parish of Backwell for the time being as to the same or one of them the sum of 5 pence weekly and every week so long as the said bastard child shall be chargeable to the said Parish of Backwell in case she shall not___ and take care of the said child herself Given under our hands and seals the day and year first above written.
