  Genealogical notes, or, Contributions to the family history of some of the first settlers of Connecticut and Massachusetts Goodwin, Nathaniel, 1782-1855. 974 D2g 1978 No concrete information has been discovered on whom William married. In a letter written by Thomas Fairchild, dated December 1662, to John Winthrop of Hartford (who was in London at the time) a Mrs. Elizabeth Whiting, of the city of London, was mentioned. Some genealogist, such as Nathaniel Goodwin, believes this Mrs. Elizabeth Whiting was the wife of William. We do know that William's son Joseph, was appointed administrator of his estate when William died in London in 1699. (Goodwin pg. 143).
