DATE: 13 Jun 2003 WHITING/SIMS I am seeking any information about my WHITING family. My father was Wade WHITING, son of Edward Lee WHITING, grandson of Elijah WHITING, great-grandson of James Thomas WHITING. James T. Whiting was born 1828 somewhere in OH, married 1st Mary ____, lived in TN, was a steamboat man; married Hariet S. SIMS, 3 Sep 1856 in Wilkinson Twp, Desha Co TN. He had brothers: Preston, steamboat man, b 1830 in TN; John, b 1838 in TN, and Shelby W., b 1843. My grandfather, Edward Lee WHITING, is buried with two of his children in Skull Cemetery.
