- Marriage Notes for Lawrence Whiting and Anna Shuey: Miss Anna Shuey Becomes Bride of Mrs. Lawrence D. Whiting A very pretty home wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. Shuey at their residence on East Bishop street, on Wednesday morning at 11:30, when their daughter, Miss Anna M. Shuey, was given by her father in marriage to Mr. Lawrence Derland Whiting, son of Prof. and Mrs. H. F. Whiting, formerly of the Bellefonte High School, and now residents of Beaver, Pa. The beautiful ring ceremony was used and was performed by the bride's pastor, Rev. Alexander Scott, minister of the Methodist Episcopal church. Miss Rachel Shuey, a sister of the bride, played the wedding march, and Miss Sarah Shuey, another sister, was maid of honor. The groom's brother, Mr. Russell Whiting, acted in the capacity of best man. The bride was becomingly attired in white Georgette crepe and Chinese lace, and carried a bouquet of salmon colored roses and orchids. The maid of honor was attired in beaded Georgette crepe over yellow, and carried a bouquet of yellow ragged dahlias. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served. The bride and groom then left for Louisville, KY, where the latter holds the position of chemist in a large firm and has a cozy home all ready and furnished to start housekeeping. Both young people have a host of friends in this section who join the Centre Democrat in wishing them a joyous journey through life.
