LUMBER WAGON COLLIDES WITH CARRIAGE; ONE HURT 1913 J. I. Hallagan, Canastota, Bruised About Shoulder in Accident on Seneca Turnpike. SPECIAL TO THE POST-STANDARD. CANASTOTA. Nov. 30. - J. I. Hallagan of this village and a Mr. Manton of Rome were thrown from a carriage, in which they were riding in Seneca turnpike last night, when a heavy lumber wagon drawn by a team of horses collided with their rig. Mr. Hallagan was driving east near the Canastota creek bridge and the wagon, which is claimed to have struck the carriage, was going in the opposite direction. Mr. Hallagan was bruised about the right shoulder. His companion escaped with minor injuries. The horse, which was from a local livery, freed itself from the wagon and ran away. At the Central railroad crossing in Peterboro street the animal demolished the south gate, which was down, and ran into the bumpers between two freight cars standing on the crossing, then turned and ran into Clockville, where it was stopped.
