      5. Caleb Whiting m. 2d Hannah (Sibly) Southworth.
Caleb Whiting (1729-1819) served as captain of a company on the Alarm of 1775 and major in Col. Ezra Wood's regiment, Massachusetts militia. He was born in Weston; died in Douglass, Mass. Also No. 145043.
This file is problematic in confusion with Caleb M. Whiting, and his son John, who was the father of John Trumball Whiting by his wife Hannah Fairbanks I have left the name John Trumball with Caleb's son, making his John Sr., and removed Hannah Fairbanks as wife of Caleb, as she was wife of John Sr. I have corrected the marriage order of Caleb, and placed the correct wife as mother of children listed, Hannah Marsh Southworth being the second wife. He served as Captain of a company on the Alarm of 1775 and Major in Colonel Ezra Wood's regiment, Massachusetts militia.
One file misspells Weston, Massachusetts, another Douglas, Massachusetts.
      Also No. 145043.

Served as corporal, 1780 in Captain Job Knapp's company, Colonel Nathan Tyler's regiment, Massachusetts Line.
