      FULTON-Howard C. Edley, 79, of Booneville, died Thursday at the home of his daughter. Edley resided most of his life in the Fulton area. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs Mildred M. Champion, with whom he resided; a niece, Mrs. Harriet Arlene Barton of Fulton; a nephew, Robert Jones of Michigan; seven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
      Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton, the Rev. Daniel Roth officiating. Burial will be in Mount Adnah Cemetery.
      Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. to day at the funeral home, 910 Fay Street.

      Howard, Diane Barton Worden's Great Uncle resided most of his life in the Fulton, New York area and in West Phoenix, New York where he lived with his sister and her family.
      Diane and Gary Worden's daughter called him "Uncle Howder" at about 3 y/o.
      Surviving him were his daughter Mrs Mildred M. Champion, with whom he resided at the time of his death; a niece, Mrs Harriet Arlene Barton of Fulton, NY; a nephew Robert Jones of Plymouth, Michigan (now deceased); seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
      Howard was a youthful member of the KKK in New York State. Later he recanted his feelings and removed himself from the organization.
      Funeral services were held at the Foster funeral home in Fulton, New York, the Reverand Daniel Roth officiating.

      Mildred May Champion
      BOONVILLE — Mildred May Champion, 83, a former resident of North St. in Madison for several years, and more recently of Oneida, and Boonville, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2008, at Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville, where she had resided since January 2007.
      A native of Fulton, she was born on May 17, 1925, a daughter of Howard Edley and Thelma Tryon Gates. She grew up in Fulton, and received her education in Fulton, Syracuse and at MVCC in Utica. For several years she was employed as a bus driver for Lewis Co. ARC at Turin, after that she was employed at Mele Mfg. Co. of Utica. Her last employment was as a home care giver in the Oneida, and Madison area.
      Mrs. Champion was united in marriage with William Edward Champion in Fulton NY, a union that lasted for sixty one years, until Mr. Champion died on October 13, 2006.
      She attended the Baptist Church of Madison, and for many years she also attended the Assembly of God Church, Boonville. Mildred enjoyed crafts, painting and bowling.
      Mrs. Champion is survived by four daughters and two sons in law; Phyllys McDougall, and Elwood, Port Leyden, Marcia Snyder, and Richard, Boonville, Cynthia Kornmeyer, and Kim Sibley, both of Pompano Beach, Fla., two sons; David, Boonville, Joel, Cocoa Beach, Fla., twenty three grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Daryll in 1998.
      Her family extends a heartfelt note of appreciation to the staff at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the kindness and care given to Mildred.
      Her Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Pastor David Hadeen, of the Boonville Alliance Church will officiate. Interment in the spring in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
