  • Notes
    • Floyd was the only one of the family that did not have a middle name. Hiswife, Ida Brandt, used to tell the family that his middle initials were'L.T.' for love and trust. He worked for many years as a truck driver forthe State of Michigan Highway Department driving a snow plow in thewinter and a grader in the summer. Many cold stormy winter nights hewould drive a plow all night keeping the roads open.

Floyd liked to drive a little fast.....just like his brothers. An articlefrom the Alpena News dated October 22, 1958 reads:
      " 30 YEARS AGO THIS DATE -
Floyd Wright of Hillman won acquittal on a speeding charge when a testordered by Judge Fred Smith confirmed Wright's claim that his car wouldnot travel 55 mph as charged by police. The test showed Wright's carwould travel only 54 miles an hour." AND now for the rest of thestory........ The real reason the car did not go 55 mph was because Floydhad switched two spark plug wires. The car was misfiring and could not goover 55 mph. Lucky for him it worked.

The Alpena News of June 25, 1980 reads:
