    • WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MURIEL PITMAN & IVAN WHITING

      Miss Muriel Pitman of Kansas City, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Pitman of West Plains, Missouri and Cpl. Ivan E. Whiting, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Whiting of 812 South Cottage, Independence, Missouri were married at 9 o'clock Monday evening. The ceremony was performed at the home of the Reverend H. M. Hunt, 610 West Van Horn Road. The Reverend Mr. Hunt is pastor of the First Baptist Church here.
      The bride wore a dress of white jersey and her corsage was of pink rosebuds. Miss Thelma Pitman, sister of the bride, was the bridesmaid. Her dress was of beige gaberdine and her corsage was of white rosebuds. Phillip Whiting, a cousin of the groom, acted as the best man. Only the immediate relatives were present.
      Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the groom's parents. Cpl. Ivan E. Whiting, who is stationed at Nashville, Tennessee, will return to his post Sunday morning. Mrs. Whiting will return to her work at the Peck's Department Store in Kansas City.
