  • Notes 
    • Charles was an excellent carpenter and cabinet maker, following that trade until he took up farming in about 1920. In 1903-1904 Charles and Clara lived in Ottertail village. They later moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota, but returned to Clitherall, Minnesota about 1910 or 1911 and erected a house in Old Clitherall. In 1930 they moved to Independence, Missouri, remaining there until 1934 when they returned to the Clitherall area. After the death of Charles, Clara stayed with different relatives, and at the time of her death was with a sister and her brothers in Washington. She was cremated, and her ashes were returned to Clitherall for burial beside her family.
