He is indebted the sum of ten statement: 'He hath left a wife, three sons, and four daughters. The eldest son is 8 years old; the second, 6 years; and the third, three-quarters [of a year]. The eldest daughter is 13 years old; the second, 11 years; the third, 4 years; the fourth, 2 years.' Samuel and Thomas were on a committee to lay out lots (of land) for hayfields 1 July 1636. In 1635 and 1636 Edward Converse and 2 other men sent to explore what became Woburn, Massachusetts. Grants of land made to Ezekiel and Thomas Richardson. The three brothers, Ezekiel, Samuel and Thomas Richardson, are known as such by the will of Ezekiel, who names the other two as his brothers. Ezekiel, evidently the oldest, was the first to come to New England, and was a planter in Cbarlestown in 1630. His departure previous to the making of the will, perhaps against his father s wishes, or possibly having received his share of his father s small estate, may account for the name of Ezekiel not appearing in the will. His baptism is not found at West Mill. as are the baptisms of Samuel and Thomas. Ezekiel probably came with Winthrop, he and his wife becoming members of the Charlestown church, 27 Aug., 1630. Thomas Richardson, baptized at West mill, 3 July, 1608, had wife Mary, who joined the Charlestown church, 21 Feb., 1635/6, and he joined, 18 Feb., 1637/8. Admitted to the First Church in Charlestown in 1637/8 with his brother Samuel. Printed from NEHG Register, Volume 57, July 1903,0 New England Historic Genealogical Society & Broderbund Software, Inc., Banner Blue Division, March 3,2001 There seems to be a slight confusion regarding the Richardson Family ancestors. Some have them coming from another part of ENGLAND. The information I have seems to be the most reliable. The earliest record in New England concerning THOMAS RICHARDSON is the admission of his wife Mary into the church at Charlestown February 21, 1635/6. He was admitted February 18, 1637/8 and was a freeman the 2nd of May 1638. Two children, Mary and Sarah, were baptized in 1638 and 1640. Thomas with his two brothers signed the Town Orders for the Woburn grant December 18, 1640 and all three settled in Woburn. The historian of the town writes that in December 1647 a committee was appointed to lay out a highway from "the three Richisons to the Towne meeting-hows one way, and Mr. Thomas Graves the other way," and that this was doubtless the commencement of the road known from time immemorial as Richardson's Row. Thomas died, intestate, August 28, 1651, aged about forty-three. Estate settlement papers show that "he hath left a wife three sons & fower daughters." His widow married, as second wife, October 26, 1655, Michael Bacon of Woburn. She died May 19, 1670. Alicia age 6 diurnum, 1610, Sept. 3 From "Alumni Oxonienses, 1500-1714" (page 1412), by Joseph Foster, it appears that the Thomas Stanton who was in his 24th year in 1619 had previously been a student at Oxford, and that his son, Thomas, Jr., and grandson Thomas, subsequently became students: Stanton, Thomas, of co. Warwick, arm. St. John's Coll., matric. 25 Jan 1610/11, aged 15, of Wolverton; father of the next. Stanton, Thomas (Staunton), 1 son of Thomas, of Wolverton, co. Warwick, arm. Additional information concerning the Stanton or Staunton family of Longbridge is found in "A Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Commoners of Great Britain and Ireland" (vol. 2, p. 588), by John Burke. In part, the line was as follows: John Staunton, of Longbridge, who m. Elizabeth, daughter of Townesend of Wales, and had issue, I. Thomas, his successor of Longbridge, m. Alice_________and left one son and four daughters. II. Thomas, bearing the same name as his elder brother, and is described as "an ancient captaine in the Irish wars." He purchased, in the 18th Elizabeth, the manor and advowson of Wolverton, in the county of Warwick. He m. first, Susanna, widow of Thomas Fisher, of the Priory, Warwick, and thus became possessed of the Deanery there. He wedded secondly, Mary, eldest dau. of George Padsey, of Langley Hall, in the county of Warwick, and by her left a son, Thomas, who m. a daughter of Walter Washington, of Radway, and had a son and daughter, viz. Thomas, who wedded (IGI extracted record: 28 May 1646, Claverdon, Warwick, Eng.) to Elizabeth, daughter of Edward Cookes, of Pinley Abbey in Warwickshire, and in his son this branch became extinct. Alice, m. to John Wagstaffe, esq., of Tachbrooke. From all of the above, it is evident that Thomas Stanton, son of Thomas and Katherine (Washington) Stanton, remained in England; that he entered Oxford, aged 17 years in 1634; that he married Elizabeth Cookes and had a son Thomas, who was 17 in 1664, when he was admitted to Oxford. These details make it necessary to abandon the theory that the Stonington, CT settler was a son of Thomas and Katherine (Washington) Stanton https://histfam.familysearch.org//getperson.php?personID=I174708&tree=EuropeRoyalNobleHous ================================================================================================================================================================== Register Report for Thomas Stanton Generation 1 1. | 19913 | In the name of God amen, the swenty-eighth day of May one thousand seven hundred and 31 I Robert Cox of Boston in New England, Fisherman, being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be given unto God therefor calling unto mind the mortality of my body knowing it is appointed unto all men once to dye do make and ordain this my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buriedin decent Christian burial at the descretion of my executor nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give, devise, and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.............. The estate was finally settled in 1745 by Matthew, his son. [from New England Cox Families page 25,26] B8F1 ROBERT COX of Marblehead "Robert Cox fisherman and soldier; freeman, 1666, member of military company from Marblehead and Salem; wounded in the famous "Swamp Fight" against the Narragansett Indians under King Phillip, Dec 16-19, 1675. Married (1)............; (2) Oct 5, 1703, at Scituate, Agnes, widown of Joshua Kent of Boston; removed shortly after 2nd marriage to Boston where the children by his second wife were born, lived on Prince Street; owned considerable property." [dThe Cox Family in America, Mass, P 237 *A5D11] From the same reference: James Cox of Marblehead, served in same military Co with Robert, perhaps a brother, William Cox ...said to have been a brother of Robert. ROBERT COX, of Marblehead, was a member of a military company composed of men from Marblehead and Salem, and commanded by one Captain Gardiner, in the year 1695. The company was engaged in the war with the Noted Indian King Phillip, and Robert Cox was wounded, Dec 16-19 of that year. (Mass Archives Vol 68 page 104) In the inventory of the estate of William Pease, of Salem, dated April 29, 1678,3 years later, mention is made of 7 barrels of mackerel, shipped to the Barbados by Robert Cox. (Essex Probate, Vol 2) The name of Robert's first wife has not yet be discovered. He appeared in Scituate, according to Dean, about 1690, where his first four children were born, or at least recorded. (History of Scituate, Samuel Dean (p 238 Scituate Town Records) Dean states that Robert married Mary the daughter of Edward Jenkins but Edward Jenkins speaks of his daughter Mary, as the wife of William Cox (Plymouth Deeds and Probates) Dean also calls William of Scituate, "the brother of Robert" but the evidence is not given. ROBERT COX married in Scituate, Oct 5, 1703 Mrs. Agnes Kent, the widow of Joshua Kent of Boston, who had by her former husband 3 children, Joshua, John and Agnes. (The Kent's were of Scituate) Robert shortly afterwoard moved with his family to Boston, where he engaged in the business of fisherman. He lived on Prince St., where he owend considerable property and where his second family of 6 children were born. The Prince Street property he leaves by his will to be divided among his heirs, Robert Cox died between May 28 and July 26 1731. | 19921 | Individual: 'Hoag' Wright and his wife owned a bar/restaurant in Hillman, Michiganfor many years. He was very generous to the Hillman community and muchloved by its citizens. He was rough and gruff with a big heart. Hebelieved all the people of Hillman to be his friends and tried to lookafter anyone who was in need. Forrest, Kate and their daughter, Clara 'Sis', are buried in St AugustineCemetery, Montmorency Co, Michigan. The Alpena News obituary for Forrest on July 14, 1976 reads: " HILLMAN - Funeral service was held at 1pm today (July 14) at GreenFuneral Home, Hillman, Rev. | 19922 | Individuals? > ? Elizabeth Whiting c.1776-? Parents: Daniel Whiting and Elizabeth Hilsdon (1,3) Born: c.1776 in Haverhill. Baptised: 16th July 1776 at St Mary's Parish Church, Haverhill. (2) Married: John Smith on 31st December 1802 at St Mary's Parish Church, Haverhill. (1,3) Children: Mary Smith b.1803, Jane Smith b.1804, Sarah Smith b.1808, Rhoda Smith b.1808, Ann Smith b.1812 and James Smith b.1815 Died: ? Bio: The birth of Elizabeth in Haverhill is attributed to Daniel and Elizabeth 'Whiten' in the Parish Register.(2) This corruption of 'Whiting' seems quite common around this time. Elizabeth seems to be the first child of Daniel Whiting and Elizabeth Hilsdon, and we can conclude this from the proximity of their marriage date on 19th December 1775 and the fact that there were no Whiting couples around at this time with the names Daniel and Elizabeth. The marriage of a John Smith to Elizabeth Whiting on 31st December 1802 is recorded in the parish register of St Mary's, Haverhill. Barnabas Webb's diary (3) also makes reference to this, although he gives Elizabeth's husband the forename 'William' not 'John'. He also notes that Elizabeth was pregnant at the time. How certain are we that this is the same Elizabeth Whiting, daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth? As there is no mention of her parents in the marriage entry it has to be said that it is really only the circumstantial evidence of her age at the time (26) and the Haverhill connection that allow us to place her as the same person. This is backed up by a lack of any obvious alternatives. Reference is made to the birth of the child Barnabas Webb referred to in the parish baptism register.(2) Mary Smith was baptised on 12th June 1803, and had been born on 5th April that year. It is interesting to note that the father is confirmed as John Smith here, and Elizabeth's maiden name of Whiting is also mentioned. A second daughter, Jane, is born on 4th March 1804 and baptised on 3rd June.(2) The baptism register of the Old Presbyterian meeting house in Haverhill has several entries during the right period that give the parents of the children concerned as John and Elizabeth Smith. Sarah Smith was baptised there on 9th July 1809, having been born on 13th July 1808.(4) The parents are given as John and Elizabeth. Rhoda Smith(5) was also baptised on the same day, attributed to the same parents but with a birth date that doesn't quite add up. Another daughter Ann, born on 25th March 1812 and baptised 12th July 1812(6) and a son James Smith, born 2nd November 1815 and baptised on 21st July 1816(7) are also children of John and Elizabeth. What happens to Elizabeth and John after this point remains unclear. There are no death dates that can be attributed to them with any certainty. To be continued... | 19925 | Inherited the lands of his father after the death of his brother Philip. Edward Siggins was attainted of high treason for participation in the rebellion of 1641, and was transplanted to county Mayo, 1654, where he had a grant (in lieu of this Wexford estates, which were confiscated) of the lands of Shanvallymore, Rathredmond and Lissawollhan in the parish of Balla. He filed a bill in Chancery, June 11, 1690, for the recovery of the Wexford estates, but apparently did not succeed in recovering them. (See excerpt form a Irish newspaper, "What's in a name?
