Re: Mary Keeble, is not Major Robert Beveley's wife

In Reply to: Re: Mary Keeble, is not Major Robert Beveley's wife by Lois Beverly of 908

Maj. Robert Beverley married Margaret Boyd in 1666,
she was born in 1637, and her family stemmed down
from Eng. and European Royalty. Her parents were
James Boyd and Catherine Crayke. Margaret was born
March l,1637 in Hull, Yorkshire, England and died
    June 28, 1678 at Blandfield, Middlesex Co.,Va.

The next wife was of Maj. Beverly's was Catherine Armistead, born 1643. She was from a noted family
also, with them being active in Jamestown colony.

After Maj. Robert died in 1687, Catherine Armistead married Christpher Robinson. Maj.Beverley and
    Catherine's daughter, Catherine Beverley, married
    John Robinson.)

Maj. Robert Beverley had children only by these two women. Margaret was called Mary most of her life.
That is where the Mary came from which was put on
    her tombstone.

About Mary Keeble, her husband being Maj. Robert
PEYTON, born 1640, and him also being in the House of
Burgesses during Maj. Robert Beverley's terms, could
be where the mixup was started and also with their
    children married within the in-law-family.

Peter, Robert Beverley's first son married Elizabeth Peyton. Elizabeth Peyton was Mary Keeble and Robert Peyton's first child of their 15 children. Mary Keeble
was born June 3, 1637 and reared 15 children, it made
her living a lot longer than the marriage to Margaret
Boyd before she died in 1678.

The children Mjr. Beverley had with Margaret were born from 1666 to 1678. The children he had with Catherine
were born from 1679 to 1687.

Back to Peter Beverley and Elizabeth Peyton, they had
a daughter Anne Beverley, b. 1689 that married Major
Henry Whiting. On one web site it said Mary Keeble's
maiden name was Whiting, that I do not know and it
could have been a mix-up also. And another, Mary
Keeble was supposed to be a widow and her name was
Mary Whiting Keeble, that has not been verified
    either.

I am just sure after seeing Mary Keeble and Major
Rbt. Peyton's family that it was not she that was
Major Beverley's wife. These two men were collegues
in politics and that is their only connection with
    Mary Keeble.
