He married Mary Metcalf 23 May 1749 in Medway, Norfolk, Massachusetts. She was born 19 Jan 1727/28 in Dedham, Norfolk, Massachusetts, and died 1798 in Medway, Suffolk, Massachusetts. Notes for Lt. Nathan Whiting: Selectman of Medway. Sacred To the Memory of Lieut. Nathan Whiting who deceased May the 9th 1790 and in the 65th Year of his age. In faith he dy'd in Dust A Revolutionary Soldier buried in the Old Cemetery at West Medway. Colonial and Revolutionary Families of Pennsylvania, Vol's I-III Nathan and Nathaniel were twins. (note: this reference gives their dob as Sep 22, 1725). Nathan was a miller, farmer, and large property owner. He was a lieutenant of militia and served in both the French (under Lord Loudon) and Indian war and the Revolution. He was one of the men detached Jun 22, 1778, from Capt. Moses Adam's Co. from Medway, to go to Providence, RI, to serve until Jan 1, 1779. His will devises to his son Nathaniel, his silver hilted rapier which had been presented to him by the citizens of Medway, in recognition of his bravery on the field of battle. More About Lt.
