While this book was in the final stages of publication, the author learned that Sylvester Whiting, son of Elisha Whiting, Jr., was first married to Elizabeth Brunnell. According to their descendents, Sylvester and Elizabeth were endowed in the Nauvoo Temple 7 January 1846. Their son, Sylvester Whiting, Jr. was born at Mt. Pisgah, 29 August 1848. Later Sylvester, Sr. left his family and joined an apostate Mormon sect. Elizabetrh and her son went to Utah, reportedly arriving in 1854. Elizabeth then married William Gribble.
