    Lawrence (Mike) Apel. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Thurstonof Jackson, 2 grandchildron, Craig (Lori; Suomala and Jeffrey

    Thurston of Jackson Kimberly (William) Kander of FIorida, and Gerald(Connie) Thurston of Colorado; six great-grandchildren; a brother,

    Stephen (Beatrice) Clark of Jackson; a niece and several nephews.According to Mrs. Apel's wishes cremation has taken place and at her

    request there will be no visitation or services.

    A life- long Chelsea resident,died Tuesday evening at St Joseph MercyHospital, Ann Arbor, where he had been a patient since last Friday.

    He was one of the original employees of the Chelsea Screw Works,forrunner of Federal Screw Works,when the company was founded in
    1913. With the exception of eight years, 1921-1929, when he wasemployed at the New York Central office here, he was employed by the
    Federal Screw Works until his retirement in 1942.

    For many years he was a member of the Chelsea Cornet Band, as a baritoneplayer.

    He was a member of St Marys Catholic Church.

    Born here, December 25. 1876 to George V and Anna (Hines) Clark, andwas married September 30, 1908 at St Marys Catholic Church, to
    the former Mary A Clark . The Rev.Fr. William Considine officiated. theycelebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary last year.

    After their marriage they lived on S.Main Street for many years, thenmoving to E. Summit Street, then to 245 Adams St.

    Survivors include his wife Mary, a son Stephen and daughter Ruth Pierce;five grandchildren; one great- grandson; several neices and
    nephews.

    Friends may call at the Staffan Funeral Home, Rosary at 8 p.m, Friday.Funeral services at St Marys Church at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev.Fr.Lee Laige officiating. Burial will take place at Mt Olivet Cemetery.

    MARY A CLARK

    The organist at St Mary's Catholic Church for 66 years, Mrs Mary AClark, 245 Adams Street., died at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home
    last Thursday afternoon, October 21. She had been a patient there since1963. She was 86. Family and friends knew her as "Mamie".

    The daughter of Stephen and Katherine Frawley Clark, born May 13, 1879,in Lyndon Township, she spent her entire life in the Chelsea area.

    She and George C Clark were married September 30, 1908, at St Mary'sCatholic Church. He died September 1, 1959.

    Mrs Clark had been the organist at St Mary's since she was 16 yearsold until four years ago when she fell and broke her arm. She was also amember of the Alter Society at St Mary's Church.

    One son, Stephen of Chelsea, and one daughter, Ruth (Pierce) Apel ofToledo, Ohio, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    Requium High Mass was sung at 10 a.m. Monday at St mary's CatholicChurch, with the Rev. Fr. Francis Maliszewski officiating. Burial was atMt Olivet Cemetery.
    An Alter Society Rosary was recited Saturday evening and a ParishRosary was recited Sunday evening at the Staffan Funeral Home.
